California Card-Scan Procedure

Live Scan and More provides Card-Scan service for individuals who do not reside in California but need to submit fingerprints electronically to the California Department of Justice (DOJ). This service is beneficial for out-of-state, out-of-country, and international applicants who are required to submit fingerprints for Licensing, Employment, visa/Immigration, and personal Background Checks.

1. Card-Scan Service: Allows individuals to submit fingerprints electronically to the California DOJ without being physically present in California. This is especially useful for out-of-state and international applicants.
2. Submission for Various Purposes: The service covers fingerprint submissions for Licensing, Employment, Visa/Immigration, and personal Background Checks.

Advantages of Card-Scan Service:

1. Location Independence: Applicants don't need to be in California to use the service.
2. Faster Processing Time: The electronic submission is much faster than the traditional mailing of ink cards to the Department of Justice.
3. Fingerprint Card Reusability: Fingerprint cards (FD-258) can be reused for other electronic submission. Restrictions apply.
4. Same-Day ATI Number: Applicants will receive their ATI (Applicant Tracking Identifier) number on the same day.

Requirements for the Service:

1. Live Scan Request Form: Provided by the requesting agency. We do not provide forms.
2. Copy of Valid ID: A copy of a valid identification document is required.
3. Two Sets of Fingerprints: Must be on FD-258 fingerprint cards without smudging.
4. Payment: The service fee for Card-Scan is $75, plus any applicable government fees.
